Solo Performance Workshops
South London Music Days are run by a team of professional musicians with a wealth of experience in a variety of areas of the music profession – teachers, soloists, performers, conductors, adjudicators and examiners – and have worked together running popular music courses for children for many years.
We welcome students of all standards, so if you play an orchestral instrument come along and have some fun working with like-minded musicians, as well as learning new skills. We also accept pianists of grade 5 and above on our orchestral courses.
Our courses also feature unique experiences including conducting workshops, handbell ringing, and choir, alongside training in performance techniques and stagecraft. We also run solo performance workshops for students, providing an opportunity to receive constructive feedback in an informal setting from our instrumental specialists.
If you would like your child to benefit from a solo performance workshop please let us know when you sign up for the course. Students can either play a fully-prepared piece or something they are currently working on.
These 5-day courses form an excellent opportunity to hone performance techniques, in particular the vital skill of working as part of a team, and we welcome all standards. We pride ourselves on making our courses engaging and enjoyable for everyone no matter their level, and challenging even the most advanced students.
The most important thing for us tutors is to see students enjoying making music in an informal setting and making friends for life as they come back year after year.

Perfect for Beginners
If your child has only just started out on their instrument, or would like to get into music and try some different instruments, then our shorter musical explorers course is the perfect fit! This course runs for 2 days alongside our 5-day orchestral course, so everyone will also get a chance to hear and perform along with the musicians from the orchestral course to be fully immersed in music and discover different instruments, including keyboard/piano, percussion, recorders, hand bells as well as orchestral instruments.
